The vineyards of the Milosavljevic family, which capture the attention of visitors and passers-by with their beauty and growing methods, are located in the village of Bucje. In this place, on the slightly undulating hills on the right bank of the Zapadna Morava River, vine has been grown since Roman times.
The family have renewed, modernized and enhanced the traditon of wine and grape production that goes back five generations. Thirty years ago, Milomir left his birth village and began to upgrade this tradition at Rebbaugenossenschaft Spiez winery in the Swiss canton of Bern, where he was influenced by German precision and French refinement. His honed knowledge and extensive experience was later transferred to his son Dragan. Once again, a rejuvenated vine sprouted in the vineyard of the Milosavljevic family and continued the cycle started by the previous generations. Today, Milomir’s son Dragan oversees four hectares of world-renowned quality grape varieties — Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz — as well as domestic varietis such as Tamjanika and Prokupac.
The vineyards are covered with grass and are not hoed. We don’t use fertilizers and the use of pesticides is reduced to minimum. The yield is controlled and reduced. The excess yield and leaves are removed before ripening and everyting is subjected to quality. Milosavljevic is a name that guarantees top quality. The indigenous varieties of Tamjanika and Prokupac that have adorned the vineyards of Bucje for centuries have successfully survived in this region and are grown on ever larger areas. Thus Milosavljevic Winery managed to create something unique and specific in the world of wines — The Wine Villa brand, which includes premium-quality wines created and refined in a process that blends the best vine-growing traditions and modern technology. This was the Milosavljevic family’s original intention.
