Merlot originates from France. It is low in tannins and is stored for 12 months in barrels made from Serbian oak. This variety is suitable for blending. Merlot is of dark ruby red color. It is soft, tasty, fruity with pleasant tannins and has a long finish. It goes great with all kinds of meat — best with lamb, game and steak — as well as strong-flavored cheeses and chocolate desserts. Decant and serve at temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius.
